Life on Mars: Warmer Climate

I thought this video was all ME - lol. The scenes are from Life on Mars (watch out, noisy link there), a BBC TV series and the song is Warmer Climate by Snow Patrol. ;) " Maybe it's the warmer climate, maybe i'm a smarter primate, maybe it's the beer i'm drinking, maybe i've stopped over thinking, baby you're the words and chapters, the sweetness in the morning after, you are the cry that turns to laughter, you're the hope that ends disaster." Will dedicate this video to Vicki, Angie, and all the beer people. We all know that they've got Br wrong on the periodic table . It's not bromine (wtf is that?), Br is beer.

A test of sorts ...

Hmm ... this seems to be a great way to show off pictures ... embedding the cool Flickr slideshow here.

The Couch Potato Conspiracy

It's all coming together now - the ubiquity of the net, the proliferation of online social spaces, the advent of WFH ('working' from home) - it's all a Conspiracy to keep us at home. Let me introduce another cog of that insidious Conspiracy machine: www.netflix.com For a monthly fee as low as $4.99, you get DVDs delivered to your doorstep , as well as access to movies online . Pay $16.99 a month, you get UNLIMITED DVDs delivered three at a time. It also comes with 17 hours of movies to watch online , if you're too lazy to even get off your butt to get your mail. Suppose you watch 5 movies a month, whether on DVD or online, that's less than $4 per movie ...! OMG. No time to write more now, gonna go watch the director's cut of Bladerunner!

Shooting the breeze

Popped down to the range again last weekend with Homie and B - whooped their butts! Did the 22 at 50yards and it was surpisingly easy, especially with the right support. Landed all my shots within 3 inches of one another - so I suggested taking the target out to 100 yards. Yep a lot more challenging - spread instantly tripled or quadrupled; needed to aim off to compensate for wind and gravity. Next up was the AR-15 - the civilian version of the venerable M-16: We had one of those reflex sights on, almost made it too ez :P line up the amber dot on the target and fire away - very forgiving. In case you're thinking I've become a gun geek - no ... just enjoy the challenge of getting my shots on target. It's fun and believe it or not, a relatively cheap hobby. Just $5 for range time.

Trailer's here , but warning: it's arm-grabbingly bloody and face-huggingly brutal. In other words, the perfect bring-a-chick flick. Akan datang: 25 Dec 2007

I'm ALIVE!

Apologies for not posting more frequently - housework and other activities call you know :) Same old usual heat - if you're wondering where the pictures are - it's been too hot to be outdoors in the day!! Not too hot to be shooting though. Popped down to the Ben Avery Shooting Facility last weekend. Fired my first handgun ... the Taurus .40 and a custom .22 rifle. Fun! The rifle was very forgiving at 50 yards - managed to get most of my shots in. Here's an aerial pic of the range: Yep, Arizona pretty much looks like that - lotsa browns, maybe a little bit more green in spring, but mostly BROWN.
