Monster Hunter World tips: Most useful Grimalkyne friends

Grimalkynes are wild palicoes. Befriending them has benefits:
  • Your Palico gets a new gadget and ability to recruit small monsters


  • They can be recruited from the map to help with hunts

  • They become available in Tailrider Safaris
The most useful gadgets are:
  • Flashfly Cage: Additional flash bomb, with upgrade to shock trap
    From Bugtrappers in Ancient Forest -  get this as soon as possible because it's MUCH more useful during hunts than the default Vigorwasp Spray
  • Plunderblade: More loot, includes rare drops!

  • Meowlotov Cocktail: More dps
    From Gajalakas in Elder's Recess

From Axis to Duotone

 Got my Duotone foil set after a long month's wait! (Ordered on Apr 2, received on May 6) Mast: Slim 2.0 D/LAB 94cm Foil: Glide 2.0 SLS 1100  specs: span 106cm, AR 10.2 Fuselage: Aero AL 3BS 66cm Stab: H185 (a step smaller than the recommended H210) Damage: S$2,875 First sesh First impressions Thoughtful package, with velcro everywhere so that stuff doesn't tumble around in the foil bag Anti-corrosion, anti-seize paste provided. Not tacky and easier to wipe off than Tef-Gel! All screws and all tools provided. The M8 screws are not Torx 40, but 45. The M6 screws are the usual Torx 30. Had to self-apply thin EVA padding for mast/board interface; I missed that and my first sesh was with the naked mast! Odd that they don't stick this at the factory.
